Cap Cana
Cap Cana is more beautiful than words can describe. From the moment you enter the resort you begin to experience elevated luxury. The sand along Cap Cana's shoreline is amazingly soft and powder white. Your feet sink into the sand as you stroll on the beach. The ocean has countless shades of blue, green and turquoise. Waves gently break 200 feet off shore over a natural coral reef barrier. The sky is so big and so blue, and the palm trees very green and very majestic. Cap Cana is the perfect union of land, sea and sky.
Cap Cana's goal is to be the "World's Next Great Destination." Cap Cana is achieving this by forming strategic alliances with companies like Bear Stearns Financial, Jack Nicklaus, International Marinas, Troon Golf and Donald Trump Enterprises. Cap Cana is currently undergoing negotiations with Ritz Carlton Hotels to operate a hotel on the Cap Cana beach, and with Andre Agassi to operate the tennis and racquet facilities at Cap Cana.
Though the marina is still under construction, shops and restaurants are being built-out at this time. 3,500 SF and 5,000 SF condos sit above the retail area of the Marina overlooking the Caribbean Sea. One can't help but marvel at Cap Cana Marina's grandeur. Land has been dredged to form inland canals for yachts of all sizes, including mega yachts of up to 200 feet in length. Modern "gondolas" will be available to transport owners and guests to every point within the marina. The entire marina has a 30 foot wide walkway around its perimeter for morning jogs or evening strolls. Once the Marina is completed at the end of 2007, beautiful boutiques and gourmet restaurants will line the marina plaza, which can be enjoyed year round. There will be plenty of action and nightlife every night, including a Mediterranean style casino and a Buddha Bar.
The beach at Cap Cana is simply fabulous. 3.5 miles of pure white sand beach make up part of the Cap Cana coastline. Palm trees with coconuts reach out towards the sky, and the breeze never stops. The private Caleton Beach Club is fully operational, with two exquisite restaurants and a lovely bar area. Orchids and beautiful furnishings adorn the hallways of the beach club, and a quaint spa awaits you should you desire a massage. A second beach club is under construction at the main Cap Cana beach, which will be available to all Cap Cana owners and guests. There are few beaches on Earth more beautiful than the beach at Cap Cana.
Never before have I been on a golf course where I hear the words "Wow" and "Spectacular" and "Amazing" so often. Golf at Cap Cana will consist of three Jack Nicklaus Signature courses. The first, Punta Espada, is the first and only PGA certified golf course in the Dominican Republic, which allows for PGA tournament play. Punta Espada has nine of its eighteen holes directly on the Caribbean Sea, and the ocean is clear and visible for 16 of the 18 holes. When Cap Cana originally requested that Jack Nicklaus Signature design the first course, Jack Nicklaus asked Cap Cana where they planned on putting homes, and that he would design the golf course around the homes. Cap Cana President Mr. Ricardo Hazoury responded with, "Actually, we would like you to put the golf course where ever you want, and we will design Cap Cana around your golf course." Hence, some of the best real estate in Cap Cana has been given to the Spectacular Punta Espada Golf Course (see adjacent Video Gallery and Photo Gallery).
The hotels at Cap Cana will be "boutique" style hotels; quaint, intimate and luxurious. Beginning with the Alta Bella Sanctuary Hotel and Jack Nicklaus's first boutique hotel, the Golden Bear Lodge, Cap Cana's hotel facilities will be envied the world over. First class materials have been used throughout the Cap Cana hotels, as well as modern-tropical architecture and design. You will feel total freedom and relaxation while at any of Cap Cana's 5 star boutique hotels.
